Me and The Others

Existing

I would have piercings by now, but it turns out you need valid ID for that. The funny thing about a driver’s license is that they’re hard to come by when you’re working all the days you could get even a permit. Passport? Well, it helps if you can find your old one. Birth certificate? How about an abstract? Ok, you’ve got student ID at least? Because obviously it’ll be useful and thus worth the trouble of standing in line for three seconds for the photo.

Nothing? As one of my friends put it, “how are you so bad at existing?”

Anyway, my semester just finished this week. As did the drama with the Stop Online Piracy Act, which is the subject of my first paid blog post. Meaning now I can put the finishing details in it, and toss that thing up.

Interestingly I’ve had a somewhat different experience from Anton, regarding the fridge and refilling. You see, Visa has some security issues right now, so I temporarily didn’t have a card, and that became longer than anticipated when Bay Federal decided to try sending my new card to the Majors st address even though I registered the move with them directly, as well as the USPS. During that lapse, my friend Theo’s mother sent him to my house with food. Then a week later, I was in the car with her and Theo both, as she was dropping us off at my house.

“Hey, do you mind if we make a quick detour?” she asks.
“Not at all!” I reply.

Turns out what she had in mind was stopping at Safeway, grabbing a cart, grabbing stuff for nachos, and turning to me to ask “what else do you want?”

So. I’ve been well cared for!
